Taiwan Media: Party Outlets Avoid Mentioning Xi Jinping, Wang Yang and Hu Chunhua Gaining Unusual Popularity

[People News] Chinese Communist Party (CCP) leader Xi Jinping has not made a public appearance for two weeks, prompting speculation about a potential loss of power. On June 4, he met with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko. A Taiwanese doctor has pointed out the need to closely monitor Xi Jinping's health and the shifts in the CCP's upper leadership. He also observed that the party media has not mentioned Xi Jinping recently; instead, figures like Wang Yang and Hu Chunhua have gained unusual prominence online.

According to a report from Taiwan's Liberty Times on June 5, Taiwanese doctor Cai Yicheng posted on Facebook, emphasising the importance of closely observing Xi Jinping's health and the power dynamics within the CCP's leadership. He noted that many analysts have observed that individuals promoted by Xi Jinping are being replaced one by one, and that the party media has not referenced Xi Jinping for quite some time, while the names of Hu Chunhua and Wang Yang have been appearing with unusual frequency.

Cai Yicheng also mentioned that while there is currently no direct evidence, the indirect evidence suggests a significant shift in power within the CCP. He highlighted that the key point of this video is not its content, but rather 'why such content can remain on Douyin for a day without being deleted'!

Cai Yicheng candidly questioned whether the reorganisation process could lead to military adventurism or a strategic contraction similar to Lenin's takeover in Russia. He cautioned that Taiwan, being just next door, needs to remain vigilant.

In recent years, Xi Jinping's health has reportedly been less than ideal. He arrived in Russia for a visit on May 7. Political commentator Wen Zhao noted on social media on the 9th that Xi Jinping's behaviour in front of the camera seemed somewhat unusual, raising concerns about his health.

Wen Zhao pointed out that Xi Jinping's past abnormal behaviours could be indicative of health issues. During his visit to France in 2024, Xi Jinping walked with an unsteady gait. In a public three-party meeting, he used a black, opaque drinking cup, unlike others who had transparent cups, and a wheelchair was available for the translator behind him. Additionally, during a media interview on the 8th of this month, Xi Jinping's neck tilted unnaturally, and he adjusted it back to normal three times within just 9 seconds, suggesting he may be unwell.

Since 2019, there have been ongoing media reports indicating that Xi Jinping's health has raised concerns. Wen Zhao believes that these reports are likely credible. Over the past five years, there have been unconfirmed reports of Xi Jinping suffering from pancreatic cancer, cerebral aneurysms, and strokes.

The Epoch Times previously reported that Xi Jinping has lost power, and currently, Wen Jiabao and Zhang Youxia are said to be in control of the situation in Zhongnanhai. There have been leaks regarding potential successors. One version suggests that former Vice Premier Wang Yang will become General Secretary, with Hu Chunhua taking over as Premier. However, independent commentator Cai Shenkun revealed on social media that the current Executive Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang is expected to replace the General Secretary.

Analysts observe that while Xi Jinping still seems to be in control, there are clear indications that the power dynamics within the upper echelons of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) are experiencing significant upheaval and reorganisation. The potential scenarios for Xi Jinping's succession—ranging from voluntary resignation, an uprising by the internal elite leadership, a military coup, to sudden death—each carry their own possibilities for change.
