On August 12, Chinese writer Li Ying, who resides in Italy, posted a photo showing a slogan on a utility pole in Langfang City, Hebei Province. The large characters read: “CCP ≠ China,” with smaller text beside it stating: “The CCP are descendants of Marx and Lenin, China’s people are descendants of Yan and Huang.” (Photo taken from Li Ying’s X account)
[People News] In mainland China, people have been taught from childhood that “loving the Party is loving the country,” equating China with the Chinese Communist Party. The CCP has long deceived the Chinese people. Recently, a “CCP ≠ China” slogan appeared on the streets of Hebei, sparking discussion. Some believe this signals an awakening among the Chinese people.
According to Dajiyuan, Li Ying posted the photo on August 12 showing the slogan in Langfang, Hebei. The large characters read “CCP ≠ China,” with smaller characters stating: “The CCP are descendants of Marx and Lenin; China’s people are descendants of Yan and Huang.”
Wang Zhongwei, a human rights activist living in the U.S., told Dajiyuan:
“This short slogan ‘CCP ≠ China’ has strong symbolic significance both visually and in its wording. It’s not only a powerful political statement in public space but also a rare act of open resistance, because the CCP has never allowed freedom — neither of thought nor of speech — and has never ceased its oppression of the people.”
He added: “When I first saw this slogan, I felt an immediate impact. The person who did this is very brave and may already be at some risk. Incidents like this have been emerging frequently lately — it’s a signal.”
Wang believes: “There are now voices within the CCP calling for reform, for prolonging the Party’s life, and even for Party leader Xi Jinping to step down or lose power. This shows the Communist Party is already on the road to collapse. I’m now meeting more and more people who, through the ‘Three Withdrawals’ movement, openly and courageously renounce the CCP — even publicly declaring on media platforms that they have quit.”
According to the Global Service Center for Quitting the CCP, more than 450 million people have withdrawn from the Party and its affiliated organizations. Some have done so under their real names. Statements on the Dajiyuan's “Three Withdrawals” website show that more people, after personal experiences, have recognized the CCP’s true nature and are leaving through various channels — quitting the Communist Party, the Communist Youth League, and the Young Pioneers.
Sun Liyong, convener of the Support Association for Political and Religious Victims in China, told The Dajiyuan: “Very few people believe in the CCP now; the common people have long hated it. In Hebei, there was a slogan on a utility pole calling for the overthrow of the CCP. In Jinan, there are similar ones calling to ‘overthrow Xi Jinping’ and ‘overthrow the Communist Party.’ In Guangxi, such small slogans appeared long ago — they’re just a way for ordinary people to vent their frustration with the CCP. I think the CCP could collapse at any time.”
He noted that China’s economic situation is poor, and people have become more sensitive to many issues. “Right now, people still have food to eat. But if one day they don’t, uprisings will surely erupt across the country, and the day of toppling the tyranny will come.”
Sun, who once served as a police officer in Beijing for eight years, said that after the 1989 Tiananmen protests, he was transferred to the security department of Beijing Rubber Supply and Marketing Company for sympathizing with the students and offending his superiors. In 1990, he was imprisoned for seven years in Beijing’s No. 2 Prison for condemning the Tiananmen massacre and publishing underground journals Democratic China and The Bell.
He recalled, "On the night of June 3, 1989, the gunfire at Tiananmen Square chilled the hearts of Beijing’s citizens. That was the moment we should have completely overthrown this evil regime."
