Recently, a message suspected to be from a Xiamen University student appeared in the toilet of a high-speed rail train. The message called on people: “1.4 billion organs, awaken!” (Screenshot from the internet)
[People News] Xi Jinping and Vladimir Putin mentioned “organ transplantation” and “living to 150 years old” during the Beijing military parade, shocking the world. Although CCTV has since deleted the video and related discussions have been censored, recently, a high-speed rail toilet displayed a message suspected to be written by a Xiamen University student: “1.4 billion organs, awaken!”
On September 7, an internet user named “Wenyong” posted on the overseas platform X: “A toilet revolution on the high-speed rail—public awareness has risen, public opinion is overwhelming, the people cannot be silenced, and the bun is bursting with stuffing!” The attached photo shows graffiti on the toilet door:
“A friend of mine passed away in his early 30s, yet Xi Pig is aiming to live to 150. 1.4 billion organs, awaken! Don’t scare me, I’m from Xiamen (sounds like ‘scared’) University.” (Click to view original post on X)
“So brave, daring to write this on a high-speed rail!” “The people’s hearts are awakening!” “This is hidden resistance—drag the CCP down!” “Now Xiamen University will probably be added to the list of banned words.”
“They’ll install cameras in the toilets.” “The toilet revolution has entered a new era.” “Soon you’ll have to scan your face to use the toilet.” “Looks like the CCP will have to assign armed police to guard every bathroom.” “Toilet guards will soon appear.” “Soon we’ll probably have to use our real names to go to the toilet.”
“Next, they’ll probably close train toilets or station guards at the door to check each person.”
“Why is it that only those at the top get to be treated like humans, while the rest of us are reduced to livestock providing organs?”
In recent years, reports of high-speed rail transporting donor organs have repeatedly surfaced in the media. Examples include: “69 seconds! High-speed rail performs a ‘heart express delivery’ to aid life-saving relay.” “Five donor organs urgently transported—medical staff take the high-speed rail to complete a life relay!” “Crossing 300 kilometres! Doctors race against time to escort a living heart.”
After noticing such news, many netizens have responded with scepticism and sarcasm. Some compare organ transplantation to “replacing parts in an old Hongqi car”—a veiled jab at certain privileged groups enjoying priority access to elite medical resources.
Comments included: “Which old Hongqi just got a new part?” “This is the real value of the old Hongqi.” Such remarks clearly point to “old cadres” (retired senior officials), implying that organ transplants are monopolised by the privileged. What angers the public is not only the opaque allocation of resources, but also the deeper anxiety over the lack of transparency and oversight in the sourcing and distribution of organs.
Among the flood of comments, recurring sentiments include: “It’s ordinary people who donate, but it’s the elites who get the organs.” “Why is every organ transport mission carried out in such secrecy and with such efficiency?” These voices are escalating into broader doubts about the fairness and legitimacy of the entire organ transplantation system. △
