The Unseen Battle in the Yu Menglong Case: A Genuine Contest of Wit and Courage

On October 6, a drone show took place in Chongqing, mainland China, where a massive, colourful koi pattern suddenly illuminated the night sky, leading the audience to excitedly chant Yu Menglong (video screenshot).

[People News] More than a month has passed since Yu Menglong's death, yet justice remains elusive. Despite the overwhelming outcry both domestically and internationally, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) continues to feign ignorance. In a remarkable turn of events, the number of global signatories on AVAAZ has skyrocketed by 40,000 in just one day, surpassing 350,000 as of October 13. The CCP's aggression is not confined to its borders; it has also reached overseas. However, this generation of netizens has shown extraordinary ingenuity, employing various strategies to resist. A smoke-free war has emerged between the global Chinese community and the CCP.

Yu Menglong's Weibo views have now reached an astonishing 38.44 billion, while Yi Yangqianxi has garnered 7.05 billion, and Xiao Zhan has 5.05 billion. Despite the authorities imposing unprecedented lockdown measures, the accomplishments of this generation of netizens are truly remarkable.

Currently living in Europe, Ma Xian, a professional feng shui master, was the first to suggest that Yu Menglong was a victim of 'sacrifice.' In his early years in mainland China, he became familiar with many stars in the entertainment industry, gaining insight into its numerous dark secrets.

He stated that concerning the Yu Menglong incident, the entire entertainment industry on the mainland has received various prohibitions from multiple channels, to the extent that even the name Yu Menglong cannot be mentioned anymore. Ma Xian warned that if the people on this land choose to remain silent, the injustice surrounding Yu Menglong will undoubtedly incite the anger of the gods. After a hundred days following Yu Menglong's death, a great calamity is expected to befall this land. This belief stems from the notion that the deities perceive those who remain silent as potential accomplices or co-conspirators. Even if evil seems insurmountable, as long as we raise our voices for Yu Menglong and demand the truth, we will rise above that evil by an inch, and that inch symbolises the kindness within each of us.

Indeed, since Yu Menglong's passing, many netizens have remained loyal and unwavering.

On October 12, the Los Angeles Film and Television Department of the Chinese Democratic Party organised a global petition signing event on Hollywood's Walk of Fame to raise awareness of the Yu Menglong incident among foreign visitors.

Additionally, friends from Malaysia have successfully sent letters to relevant Chinese authorities to advocate for Yu Menglong.

Recently, various locations across the mainland have witnessed phenomena such as "mobile phone stores plastered with Yu Menglong's photos" and "shopping malls displaying 'I am Yu Menglong' on large screens."

Furthermore, netizens continue to write letters, make phone calls, report, and file complaints with the relevant authorities. In the anime community, some have produced animations that satirise the powerful figures behind the Yu Menglong case. The Yu Menglong incident has also been adapted into numerous novels that are being widely circulated, and there are even individuals crafting criminal investigation and mystery stories.

Netizens have expressed their frustration over the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) excessively stringent internet censorship, which has turned all terms associated with the incident involving Yu Menglong (于朦朧) into banned words in an attempt to stifle public opinion. Those engaged in live fish sales and the so-called 'fishing enthusiasts' have become the primary victims of this crackdown.

Even more absurdly, the four great classical novels of China—Journey to the West, Dream of the Red Chamber, Water Margin, and Romance of the Three Kingdoms—are now off-limits, as they are claimed to allude to sensitive content.

The CCP's stability maintenance machinery has become disoriented, choosing to err on the side of caution by punishing many innocents rather than allowing even one guilty party to escape.

Lu Ban (鲁班), a mainland writer who has been a vocal supporter of Yu Menglong, has been actively resisting the CCP's campaign to delete posts in recent days. After having nine of his Weibo posts removed, he angrily questioned, 'If I post punctuation marks, will they also be deleted?' He then proceeded to share a series of punctuation marks: commas, colons, periods, exclamation marks, and question marks.

On October 13, he wrote, 'Every time I open Weibo, I notice that many bloggers and netizens speak in a strange and ambiguous tone, hinting at things indirectly. I suggest that Weibo should simply change its name to 'Yin Yang Blog' in the future.'

Netizens responded by suggesting that even that book, whatever it is, and Douyin (抖音) should also be renamed to 'Yin Yang Book' and 'Yin Yang Sound'.

Some users received warnings instructing them not to disseminate any information related to Yu Menglong. They were told to forget, to remain silent, and to clear their search history. If they continued to defy these orders, the next 'greetings' would directly impact their health, work, and the safety of their family members. There were even malicious threats stating, 'We are everywhere; we are your neighbours, your delivery personnel, the algorithms in your phone,' leading netizens to remark on the pervasive darkness, as if a hand were covering the sky.

However, retribution arrived swiftly. The brokerage firm "Tianyu Media" and its parent company "Mango Excellent Media," to which Yu Menglong belonged, faced frequent personnel changes and a significant drop in stock prices.

As of October 13, Mango Excellent Media's stock had declined for three consecutive days, totalling a drop of 11.61%.

On October 12, a shareholder reported that Mango had launched a new technology company, which would transfer existing assets through consulting fees, technical service fees, or loans, warning retail investors to flee!

According to Tianyancha, Hunan Mango Chuangzhan Technology Co., Ltd. was established on September 23, with Cheng Hao as the legal representative and a registered capital of 80 million RMB. Its business scope includes online cultural operations, internet information services, and online data processing and transaction processing services, among others. Shareholder information indicates that the company is jointly owned by Changsha Malanshan Investment Development Construction Co., Ltd., Mango Excellent Media, Mango Media Co., Ltd., and Zhongguang Tianze Media Co., Ltd.

Netizens noticed that since September 17, the two shareholders of Mango Chuangzhan Technology Co., Ltd., Changsha Malanshan Investment Development Construction Co., Ltd. and Zhongguang Tianze Media Co., Ltd., had been engaging in frequent fund transactions, with one transferring out and the other transferring in. This raised suspicions that Mango Excellent Media had specifically created Mango Chuangzhan Technology Co., Ltd. to escape its current predicament.

Mango Super Media is a new media company listed under Hunan Broadcasting System, which also includes Tianyu Media. The Hunan Provincial Government serves as the organisational superior of Hunan Broadcasting System, while the Hunan Provincial Propaganda Department oversees its business operations. The business supervisor of the Hunan Provincial Propaganda Department is, of course, the Central Propaganda Department of the Communist Party of China, creating a complete state-owned cultural industry chain. Cai Qi, the current member of the Politburo Standing Committee, is primarily responsible for national security and ideological propaganda.

Let’s set aside the question of whether Cai Qi has an illegitimate child among the 17 individuals involved in the case. From the standpoint of the business supervisor, it raises the question of how deep the waters are in the Yu Menglong case and what insider information might be at play—can Cai Qi truly be unaware? The unprecedented control over speech undoubtedly originates from Cai Qi. If there were no significant issues involving high-ranking officials, why would he resort to such heavy-handed suppression?

Netizens have pointed out that everything now makes sense: organs, money laundering, arms, pensions—so many people have died in Tianyu over the years, all linked to this group. It’s no wonder they are in such a panic, suppressing public opinion across the internet and even hiring online trolls to exert pressure externally; this is indeed a shocking major case!

As of now, the cause of Yu Menglong's death remains clouded in mystery, but the demand for the truth continues to grow, even a month later. The Yu Menglong incident has evolved into a movement not only advocating for Yu Menglong but, more importantly, calling for accountability from the Chinese Communist Party.
