Statistics: 193 Anonymous Death Threats Targeting Falun Gong

[People News] According to the latest statistics from the Falun Dafa Information Center, from March 2024 to October 16, 2025, a total of 193 anonymous death threats have been made against Falun Gong or impersonating Falun Gong practitioners.

In response to the latest round of violent threats targeting Falun Gong in October, Piero Tozzi, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Congressional-Executive Commission on China (CECC), told The Dajiyuan on October 28 that “this is a typical example of the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) transnational repression, and it specifically targets Falun Gong.” He added that it “constitutes state-level terrorist conduct” by the CCP.

Anonymous Death Threats

From October 1 to October 16, 2025, Falun Gong practitioners, related organizations, and even the U.S. President’s residence became targets of a series of intensive harassment and cyberattacks worldwide.

This wave of attacks included identity impersonation with violent threats, in-person intimidation, and large-scale Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) cyberattacks on the Falun Dafa Information Center (FDIC) website.

The latest round of anonymous death threats targeted Falun Gong events and media offices in Taiwan, Orange County (New York State), and New York City. Many of these threats were sent through online contact forms using forged identity information.

The threats impersonated Shen Yun performers, Falun Gong practitioners, the founder of Falun Gong and his family members, as well as media editors, making explicit threats of shootings, bombings, arson, and murder.

Previously, noted legal scholar and former Peking University law professor Yuan Hongbing told The Dajiyuan that Xi Jinping ordered an escalation of the CCP’s transnational persecution of Falun Gong in 2022, mainly carried out through “public opinion warfare” and “lawfare.”

The Falun Dafa Information Center listed several recent threat cases, such as:

  • October 1: A message impersonating a Shen Yun principal dancer was sent to Taiwan’s National Police Agency (NPA), warning that the documentary State Organs “will be attacked.” The message read: “Don’t think we don’t dare… Don’t regret it when the attack happens!”

State Organs exposes the CCP’s systematic practice of forcibly harvesting organs from imprisoned Falun Gong practitioners and other prisoners of conscience.

  • October 2: A message sent to the Falun Dafa Information Center website impersonated Mr. Li Hongzhi, the founder of Falun Gong. It threatened: “I will soon go to Dragon Springs (Shen Yun headquarters) and shoot anyone I see.” The threat was sent from a forged Dajiyuan email address: [email protected].

  • October 5: A fake threat sent to Fei Tian College and Shen Yun Performing Arts claimed bombs would be planted at former U.S. President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate and that “everyone nearby will be shot.” The message falsely claimed the incident would be broadcast by a news outlet founded by Falun Gong practitioners.

  • October 7: Someone impersonating a Chinese dissident sent threats claiming to carry out shootings and gas bomb attacks at Dragon Springs.

  • October 9: A threat impersonating a Falun Gong practitioner claimed there would be random killings and robberies in Taiwan on Double Tenth Day, and that Falun Gong-related clothing and books would be left at the scene to frame Falun Gong. The message said: “Randomly choose a household in Taipei, break in, rob, kill... wait for death.”

  • October 15–16: Multiple bomb and shooting threats were sent to Taiwan’s National Police Agency, impersonating media workers and relatives of Falun Gong’s founder, falsely claiming that The Dajiyuan office had been rigged with explosives. These threats triggered evacuations and police inspections, which were later confirmed to be false alarms.

Physical Harassment

On the afternoon of October 2, a Chinese man harassed Falun Gong practitioners at an information booth outside the Chinese Consulate Visa Office in Toronto, Canada (393 University Avenue).

A man in his fifties holding a CCP flag and a stick smashed signs condemning the persecution of Falun Gong and shouted insults. When a Falun Gong practitioner tried to calm him down, he threw the stick at the practitioner, waved the flag wildly among the crowd, continued cursing, and shouted slogans defending the CCP.

The man was eventually restrained by bystanders and security personnel before leaving the scene. The incident has been reported to the police.

This violent incident highlights the real risks and hostility faced by Falun Gong practitioners when participating in peaceful activities.

Cyberattacks

Between 1:30 a.m. and 12:00 noon (U.S. Eastern Time) on October 15, the Falun Dafa Information Center’s official website (faluninfo.net) was hit by a massive Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack. Reports indicate that two main IP addresses generated approximately 2.49 million and 891,000 access requests, respectively.

Preliminary tracking showed that some activity was linked to servers in Australia, but attackers likely used VPNs and anonymizing tools to conceal their origin.

The attack heightened concerns over the ongoing identity-impersonation threats. The website, however, remained unaffected.

U.S. Congressional Official: CCP’s Transnational Repression Specifically Targets Falun Gong — Acts of State Terrorism

Regarding the latest round of violent threats in October, Piero Tozzi, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Congressional-Executive Commission on China (CECC), told The Dajiyuan:

“This is a typical pattern of the Chinese Communist Party’s transnational repression. In particular, they are indeed targeting Falun Gong. The CCP has shown extremely strong hostility and hatred toward Falun Gong.”

He added:

“We’ve seen a consistent pattern with ‘bomb threats.’ For example, similar incidents have occurred during Shen Yun performances at the Kennedy Center.”

Tozzi explained:

“They also forge identities, impersonate Falun Gong practitioners, and attempt to defame the reputation of Falun Gong — this is another level of their operation, or an additional tactic.”

He stated that this behavior is a classic example of state terrorism carried out by the CCP:

“Because it involves bomb threats and similar conduct, it constitutes terrorist activity.”

“This should not only be viewed as transnational repression… because it involves bomb threats, it amounts to state-level terrorist conduct.”

“For such things to occur on U.S. soil is clearly and entirely unacceptable.”
