[People News] Wu Jingping, a popular science writer acclaimed by his audience as the 'first person in popular science storytelling,' tragically passed away at the age of 53 due to a sudden brain infarction that could not be treated. He died at 6:40 AM on September 12 at the Central Hospital of Minhang District, Shanghai.

In his early career, Wu Jingping worked as an art director for an IT company, where he was involved in creating special effects for popular science films and television. He later transitioned to full-time popular science writing. In 2014, he launched the audio program 'Science History Storytelling,' which has achieved over 100 million views online, with more than 58 million views on the Himalaya platform alone (as of September 14, 2026). His work primarily targeted teenagers, and he conducted numerous popular science lectures and guided tours at various science museums, making a significant impact at the Shanghai Science and Technology Museum, Shanghai Planetarium, Shanghai Natural History Museum, and several primary and secondary schools in Shanghai and nearby areas. His influence was undoubtedly substantial.

Moreover, he authored several popular science books, including 'Darwin's War,' 'The Soft Universe,' 'The World of Nothingness,' and 'The Many Stories of Medical History.' Notably, 'Darwin's War' was recognized as a recommended book for the 15th Wenjin Book Award.

'Darwin's War' is a comprehensive popular science book that supports and explains the theory of evolution. It presents the historical context in which Darwin introduced the theory, recounting the significant controversies and challenges surrounding the theory of natural selection during and after Darwin's lifetime, ultimately leading to its widespread acceptance in the scientific community.

In fact, Wu Jingping intentionally overlooks and fails to inform teenagers that, to date, scientists have not found any fossils of transitional species among the millions of fossilized biological species, as proposed by evolutionists. If evolution is real, there must be transitional forms between species during the evolutionary process; otherwise, the concept of evolution is flawed. Yet, despite the countless fossils unearthed by humans, there has not been a single instance of evidence that can withstand rigorous examination and validation.

Specifically, according to the theory of evolution, humans evolved from apes, which implies that the transition from ape to human should have occurred gradually, step by step. This means there should be intermediate species from this transitional period. However, there are no living intermediate species on Earth, nor are there any fossilized remains. Furthermore, the gap between monkeys and apes is even larger; there are no living or fossilized transitional species between monkeys and apes either.

In contrast, there is a substantial amount of historical documentation, scientific investigations, and research evidence that irrefutably demonstrate that evolution is a pseudoscience.

For instance, according to Darwin's theory of evolution, human civilization has existed for no more than ten thousand years. Looking further back, humans were still in a primitive society characterized by slash-and-burn agriculture and a diet of raw meat and blood. However, modern archaeologists have uncovered numerous prehistoric tools and human artifacts, and have accurately dated them. The results of these archaeological findings indicate that human history is far older and more extensive than what is suggested by evolutionary theory.

Archaeological evidence demonstrates that prehistoric human culture was highly advanced, achieving astonishing feats in various fields such as architecture, astronomy, geography, physics, metallurgy, medicine, and art, some of which even exceed today's technological capabilities. For instance, the Great Pyramid of Khufu in Egypt consists of 2.3 million massive stones, with each stone averaging 2.5 tons in weight, and the largest weighing up to 250 tons. Its geometric dimensions are remarkably precise, with its four sides oriented towards the cardinal directions of southeast, southwest, northwest, and northeast. The height of the pyramid multiplied by 109 equals the distance from the Earth to the Sun, while multiplying it by 43,200 yields the exact distance from the North Pole to the equatorial plane. Additionally, its circumference multiplied by 43,200 matches the circumference of the Earth's equator. The pyramid is strategically located on the Earth's meridian, and a small hole within it is aligned with the star Sirius.

Moreover, historical accounts from both ancient and modern times, across various cultures, mention the existence of 'giants' and 'dwarfs,' which also contradict the principles of evolution. Wu Jingping, however, chooses to overlook these facts.

This raises a question: for many young individuals influenced by Wu Jingping's so-called popular science, if they accept the erroneous belief that 'humans evolved from monkeys' and reject the existence of deities, does this not make them more susceptible to the Chinese Communist Party's promotion of 'atheism'? Are they not more likely to dismiss all extraordinary phenomena in the world?

Undoubtedly, if one seeks to answer the so-called 'ultimate questions' of humanity—such as 'Who am I? Where do I come from? Where am I going? Who was I before I was born? Who am I after I am born?'—humanity can only look to the heavens and have faith in gods and Buddhas to truly attain wisdom and enlightenment. Conversely, those who subscribe to the fallacies of evolution are unlikely to believe that gods and Buddhas govern all things, nor will they accept that good and evil are rewarded according to the principles of heaven. This mindset leads to a lack of restraint, a rapid decline in morality, and the commission of all manner of evil, distancing them further from the divine. What will be the consequences of this? Furthermore, how significant are the sins of Wu Jingping that affect these individuals? Is his premature death a consequence of his own karma?
