On October 12, 2026, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) announced with great indignation that it would impose sanctions on Paraguay's Minister of Communications, Biyade, and Belize's (Belize) Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fonseca. However, these sanctions are nothing more than empty gestures, completely ineffective. (People News/AI generated image)
[People News] The CCP's wolf warriors have once again put on a show—this time with 'empty sanctions'!
On October 12, the CCP declared in anger that it would impose severe sanctions on Biyade and Fonseca! The justification for these actions is that these two politicians are 'stubbornly anti-China' and 'willing to act as pawns for Taiwan independence,' as they continue to maintain formal diplomatic relations with Taiwan!
The accusations made by the CCP against these two foreign politicians sound quite serious, and the sanctions they announced are even more dramatic:
First, they will freeze the assets of both individuals within China! Second, they will prohibit Chinese entities from cooperating with them! Third, they will refuse to issue visas, effectively banning them for life from entering China, Hong Kong, and Macau!
One might think that these two Latin American ministers have stashed their wealth in a village bank in Henan or are eager to buy vacation homes in the 'ghost city' of Xiong'an!
However, it is important to note that Paraguay and Belize are diplomatic allies of Taiwan and do not have diplomatic relations with Communist China.
This clearly shows that the CCP's tactics are merely 'throwing punches in the air'; aside from indulging in a moment of self-satisfaction in domestic news, these actions have no real impact on the individuals involved!
When reporters inquired about his thoughts on the sanctions imposed by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), Paraguayan Minister Bi Yade (Gustavo Villate) responded calmly to the media: "This is completely expected! We are very calm, and we will vigorously advance all cooperation projects with Taiwan!"
This response can be characterized as: "Minimal harm, maximum insult!"
The CCP issued a high-profile statement announcing sanctions against them, which ended up serving as free political advertising for Paraguay! This is largely because ministers from Taiwan's diplomatic allies rarely visit China.
Beijing had previously imposed similar sanctions on Western politicians who support Taiwan. However, these sanctions from the CCP can be considered to have no symbolic significance at all.
Additionally, Paraguay has recently partnered with Taiwan on a $200 million artificial intelligence (AI) data center project, which combines Taiwan's leading semiconductor technology with Paraguay's rich green energy resources, and is expected to be operational by 2027!
In a twist of irony, just this July, Paraguay had completed a cybersecurity review with the U.S. Embassy, uncovering several hacker groups linked to the CCP that were attempting to infiltrate Paraguay's national systems.
The CCP secretly hacked into their systems, got caught, and now, in a fit of embarrassment, pretends to impose righteous sanctions? Isn't this a classic case of "the black shop hitting the police"?
Regarding Belize (Bèi lǐ sī), the situation is even more striking. Just before the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) announced its sanctions, the Belizean embassy in Taiwan celebrated the 37th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries with great fanfare on Facebook, stating: "Looking forward to a future filled with growth, opportunities, and lasting friendship!"
In response, Taiwan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs firmly stated that the Republic of China (Taiwan) and the People's Republic of China (PRC) are not subordinate to each other, and the CCP has no authority to interfere in Taiwan's diplomatic relations!
It’s now clear that the politicians imposing sanctions on other countries are not performing for Paraguay or Belize, but rather for the domestic audience of "pink" and "human resources"! Amidst a domestic economic crisis, a collapsing housing market, and soaring unemployment, the CCP needs to regularly create the illusion of being a "strong nation" to make the little pinks feel as if "we have triumphed over foreign forces once again."
However, many officials from democratic countries perceive the CCP's so-called sanctions as a "democratic badge of honor." They believe that being targeted by the evil Communist Party regime is a divine reward for their righteousness, a mark of honor.
In May 2024, Taiwanese commentator Li Zhenghao (Lǐ zhèng hào) humorously remarked on his program and social media after being included on the CCP's sanctions list, saying that this means "the ancestral grave is about to emit green smoke," mocking the notion that the CCP's so-called sanctions have no real impact and are merely a political badge.
Many friends can't help but ask: "What can this 'wolf warrior diplomacy' achieve besides offending the entire world?"
Certainly, a government in a normal country would not behave this way. However, within the Chinese Communist Party's system, particularly under Xi Jinping's leadership, the mantra of 'better to be left than right' is the only way to ensure survival; the more aggressive the rhetoric, the more secure the official's position becomes. The 'wolf warrior' diplomacy is not intended for foreign audiences, but rather is a performance for domestic consumption!
At the very least, the ban on 'entry to Hong Kong and Macau' provides the Party Central Committee and Chairman Xi with several days of self-satisfaction.
This reflects the 'achievements' that the wolf warrior diplomacy, directly overseen by General Secretary Xi, continuously presents to the citizens of the nation.
