[People News] On the evening of October 29, thousands of students from two high schools in Guangdong Province protested due to water and power outages at their schools, which made the heat unbearable. When they requested to go home, the school authorities refused. The students, filled with anger, initiated protests, highlighting the growing dissatisfaction among Chinese youth with the CCP's oppressive control, which has reached a breaking point.

Power outages also prevent students from going home. The school's arrogant attitude fuels student anger.

According to a video released by the self-media outlet "Yesterday," a mass protest erupted at the Experimental Middle School in Longchuan County, Heyuan City, Guangdong Province, on the evening of October 29. The incident was triggered by a notice from the school's general affairs office stating that due to a sudden failure of the school's power supply facilities, multiple areas on campus experienced power anomalies. The school urgently contacted the power supply department for repairs, necessitating a power outage. When students requested to go home, they were denied by the school leadership. Enraged, students gathered at the school gate, chanting slogans like "Go home" and demanding to leave, resulting in a standoff between both sides.

Ultimately, the students forcibly climbed over the school gate to leave the campus; during this process, some students kicked the school secretary and principal who tried to block them.

A student from the school confirmed to Dajiyuan reporters that there was indeed a water and power outage on the evening of the 29th, stating, "Because there was no hot water, we couldn't take showers in the dormitory, so everyone rushed out of the dormitory and ran to the school gate to go home."

Parents also commented online that the power outage began that afternoon and had not been repaired by the evening. Due to the dark and stuffy conditions on campus, students gathered at the school gate demanding to go home.

The students interviewed reported that there was a physical altercation between students and teachers at the school gate, leading some students to go home. Nevertheless, classes proceeded as usual on October 30. He noted that the school has over four thousand students.

According to public records, Longchuan County Experimental High School was founded in 1993 and is a public ordinary high school. On February 22, 2026, Shenzhen Bao'an Middle School (Group) officially took over the management of Longchuan County Experimental High School. An unveiling ceremony was held on May 20, where Shenzhen Bao'an Middle School (Group), the Longchuan County Education Bureau, and Longchuan County Experimental High School signed a tripartite cooperation agreement.

Later that evening, a protest broke out at Gaoyao District Second Middle School in Zhaoqing City after the principal ordered the air conditioning in the dormitories to be turned off. Initially, students, unable to endure the heat, collectively shouted from their dorms, demanding the air conditioning be turned back on. They then forcibly opened the dormitory doors, marched around the campus, and chanted slogans to express their dissatisfaction with the school administration.

The frustration of young people with oppressive control has reached a tipping point.

These events unfolded during the Fifth Plenary Session and coincided with proposals from 14 universities in Beijing advocating for the abolition of the indefinite term limit for the President, the restoration of constitutional term limits for national leaders, the implementation of orderly power transitions, and the calling for a national constitutional amendment conference to enhance public participation in governance and improve electoral and oversight mechanisms.

This marks the awakening and manifestation of 'rights protection awareness.'

The underlying cause of these two incidents appears to be specific issues related to living rights, such as water and electricity outages and restrictions on using air conditioning in dormitories. However, in a high-pressure and oppressive environment, students escalated their actions from collectively shouting from their dormitories to pushing open iron gates, climbing over school walls, and even engaging in physical confrontations with school management. This indicates that the new generation of youth, when confronted with unreasonable restrictions or violations of their basic rights, no longer opts for silence or absolute obedience. Instead, they exhibit a strong capacity for immediate action and a heightened sense of resistance.

At present, dissatisfaction with the ruling Chinese Communist Party (CCP) seems to have reached a 'critical point' across various sectors of society. The younger generation's demands for personal rights, freedom of space, and the rationality of governance have significantly intensified. The one-way high-pressure control tactics employed by the CCP are now facing increasingly high social marginal costs.△
