October 24, 2024 — On the evening of October 23, a serious revenge-driven incident occurred near Renmin Road in Qingdao, Shandong Province. A cement truck driver, while shouting, "The Communist Party won’t let me live, I want to kill people," drove his vehicle into more than fifty cars.

Several videos circulating online show the incident near Yuehui Plaza on Renmin Road in Qingdao. In one of the videos, filmed from inside the cement truck, the driver, visibly agitated, swears at the Communist Party, repeatedly yelling, "The Communist Party won’t let me live! I want to kill people!" The driver then drove recklessly, first crashing into a white van at an intersection and rear-ending a red car waiting at a traffic light at the next intersection.

In another video, the driver can be seen driving in the wrong lane, crashing head-on into multiple cars before coming to a stop. Some private vehicles were overturned, others severely damaged, and a bus had a deformed front end with shattered windows.

According to a bystander recording the event, "The cement mixer truck went on a revenge-driven rampage, crashing into over fifty cars while driving in the wrong lane."

On October 24, Qingdao's Public Security Bureau in Shibei District issued a statement saying that the cement mixer truck collided with multiple vehicles. The injured were taken to the hospital, with three remaining in care, though none were in critical condition. The 48-year-old suspect, surnamed Sun, from Shibei District, was allegedly driving under the influence and has been taken into custody.

The police report did not specify the exact number of vehicles involved in the collision.

The official statement triggered skepticism from netizens: "The car’s front end is gone, but there’s no danger to life?" "They’re covering this up, making the driver look like a drunk driver, not surprising at all." "The audio of 'The Communist Party won’t let me live, so I’ll kill people' is so clear, and yet they frame it as drunk driving. Can we trust the reported injuries? They’re probably trying to cover up multiple deaths."

Other netizens sarcastically commented, "This is like the story of the Khwarezmian messenger: the king foolishly thought that by encouraging good news and killing the bearer of bad news, he could eliminate all bad news and achieve everlasting peace."

Local netizens claim that the driver had been "forced to kneel by urban management officers while selling vegetables on the street years ago." While it’s unclear what triggered this recent incident, in the video, the driver seems to say he was recently arrested by the police.

Currently, reports about the incident on social media have been censored. One user noted that they posted six videos, but all were removed.
