[People News] The truth surrounding the death of former Chinese Premier Li Keqiang appears to be slowly emerging as Xi Jinping's grip on power diminishes. On June 29, a complaint submitted by Li Keqiang's widow, Cheng Hong, to the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China was revealed by overseas social media. In her letter, Cheng Hong expressed her desire for the military to take charge of the investigation. She stated that a military management team sent by the Military Commission has already entered the Ministry of Public Security, and relevant leaders have provided details about the circumstances of Li Keqiang's harm. So, who is this relevant leader?
Multiple sources indicate that this relevant leader is the current Minister of Public Security, Wang Xiaohong. Wang Xiaohong has voluntarily reported the entire process of the alleged harm against Li Keqiang to the military. He recounted Xi Jinping's original words: 'With Xi, there is no Li; with Li, there is no Xi. You handle this!' Wang Xiaohong is prepared to testify publicly at the Fourth Plenary Session in exchange for immunity.
During the expanded Politburo meeting on May 14, Wen Jiabao implicitly suggested that Li Keqiang was murdered by Xi Jinping, urging Xi to apologize for these errors and step down, while calling for the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection to investigate his responsibilities. Wang Yang disclosed that Li Keqiang had called him shortly before his death, expressing a premonition that his time was short. Just two days later, the news of Li Keqiang's passing was reported. He also demanded a comprehensive investigation into the cause of Li Keqiang's death.
On June 13, reports began circulating overseas regarding the alleged assassination of Li Keqiang, revealing the names and personal details of the entire assassination team, which led to a surge in public sentiment abroad. By June 26, it was reported that Zhang Youxia, Vice Chairman of the Military Commission, had dispatched a military management team to the Ministry of Public Security. Under pressure, Minister of Public Security Wang Xiaohong voluntarily disclosed the details of the covert operation against Li Keqiang.
Wang Xiaohong stated that in 2023, acting on direct orders from Xi Jinping, he had tasked the Special Operations Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security with forming a secret group to plan and carry out the covert operation against former Premier Li Keqiang.
Confronted by the military management team led by Zhang Youxia, Wang Xiaohong felt his position was extremely precarious. He chose to disclose information in hopes of negotiating a deal with the military and the new central leadership. Wang Xiaohong explicitly suggested that he would expose Xi Jinping's assassination orders in exchange for immunity from responsibility from the military. He expressed his willingness to publicly confront Xi Jinping at the upcoming Fourth Plenary Session to safeguard his own position.
Following Li Keqiang's death in October 2023, nearly no one believed he had died of a heart attack. Prior to his death, Li Keqiang was residing at the Dongjiao State Guesthouse in Shanghai, which serves as the national guesthouse for the CCP and is managed by the Central Guard Bureau. Thus, Li Keqiang died within the confines of the Central Guard Bureau's control. Furthermore, Li Keqiang's family reported that they had been unable to reach him since the end of August, and even during the Mid-Autumn Festival, they had no news of him, indicating that he had already been under the control of the Central Guard Bureau prior to his death.
Gao Guangjun, a former lecturer at the China University of Public Security, stated that Wang Xiaohong is in charge of the Central Guard Bureau, which includes direct oversight of the Dongjiao Hotel where Li Keqiang stayed. The Dongjiao Hotel is directly managed by the Beijing Central Guard Bureau. Typically, individuals of Li Keqiang's stature are secured directly by the Central Guard Bureau.
On June 24, commentator Lao Deng disclosed in his self-media program that reliable sources indicate that Minister of State Security Chen Yixin has been placed under house arrest and is currently undergoing investigation regarding certain matters. Minister of Public Security Wang Xiaohong may be relieved of his ministerial duties, retaining only his positions as State Councilor and Secretary of the Central Secretariat.
This information has not yet been confirmed. However, it can be inferred that amid growing rumours of Xi Jinping losing power, the revelation of Li Keqiang being secretly harmed has intensified external doubts about Xi Jinping's authority.
Wang Xiaohong, hailing from Fuzhou in Fujian, has a close relationship with Xi Jinping. While Xi served as the Secretary of the Fuzhou Municipal Committee, Wang held various positions, including Director of the Minhou County Public Security Bureau and Deputy Director of the Fuzhou Public Security Bureau. In 2022, Wang Xiaohong was appointed Minister of Public Security and also took on the role of Deputy Secretary of the Central Political and Legal Affairs Commission. He is the first Minister of Public Security with a background in public security since 1998. Reports suggest that Xi Jinping's daughter was once fostered in Wang Xiaohong's home, highlighting a unique bond between them.
