Xi Jinping’s Skin Tone Appears Abnormal—Signs of Trouble Ahead

Photos from the event show Xi Jinping’s skin looking much darker than before, even more so than during his earlier appearance in Tibet. Xi has long been the subject of rumors about health issues, and this abnormal complexion has again sparked heated discussion and speculation.

On the eve of the CCP’s September 3rd military parade, Xi attended the summit in Tianjin. Group photos with other world leaders revealed that Xi’s face appeared much darker than when he was seen in Tibet just days earlier. His complexion was even darker than that of Indian Prime Minister Modi. The unusual skin tone quickly became a hot topic on X (formerly Twitter).

Reactions online included:

  • Biyu: “Looking closely at Xi Jinping’s complexion, it’s darker than Modi’s, with a forced smile and a gloomy look. That is the face of someone at death’s door.”

  • Xie Wanjun: “During the summit, Xi’s face turned blacker than Modi’s, a sign of liver failure and advanced illness.”

  • Zvtli: “Look at Xi’s skin tone—darker than Modi’s, almost African black. And it happened overnight. Just days ago in Tibet he didn’t look this dark. It looks like makeup was applied to cover something up.”

Why did Xi’s complexion turn dark?

Political commentator Chen Pokong offered three possible explanations:

  1. Cosmetic cover-up: Perhaps Xi has always been this dark, but makeup and photo editing usually concealed it.

  2. Sun exposure or exercise: Could it be due to recent outdoor activity or working out? Chen ruled this out, noting Xi spends most of his time indoors and rarely engages in outdoor leisure.

  3. Health issues: Certain diseases—such as liver problems or pancreatic issues—can cause darkening of the face.

“My personal view is that this is health-related,” Chen said. “It matches the rumors over the past year about Xi’s poor health and declining condition. At the summit, he looked dull and unresponsive, with no interaction with other leaders.”

Other speculation:

Wang Jizhou, founder of Yihe Capital, often blends finance and metaphysics in his commentary. Interacting with fans, he hinted:

“On September 3, we may witness a big drama. The audience will watch a major event unfold. He (Xi) shows the sign of ‘dark clouds over the head.’”

He declined to elaborate further, saying, “Heaven’s secrets cannot be revealed.”

Some netizens speculated Xi’s darkened face might be linked to liver or kidney dysfunction, or poor blood circulation.
