Change in Appearance Raises Rumors About Qin Gang s Public Re-emergence; is Fu Xiaotian and His Illegitimate Child in Trouble

Recently, photos of Qin Gang, the former Foreign Minister of the Communist Party of China, have been circulating on social media platforms, showing him making a public appearance. (Internet screenshot)

[People News] Recently, photos of Qin Gang, the former Foreign Minister of the Communist Party of China, have surfaced on social media. In a group photo featuring Qin Gang with several individuals, he is seen wearing a dark suit and a red tie, appearing to have gained weight compared to his previous appearance. He is suspected of having attended an event at the 28th Beijing International Music Festival.

The large screen behind Qin Gang in the group photo displays the date October 17, 2025. A British-Chinese female pianist, who is scheduled to perform at the concert, is also present in the photo.

Reports indicate that on October 10, the Beijing International Music Festival, hosted by the Beijing Municipal Government and organised by the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism and the Beijing International Music Festival Art Foundation, with support from the National Grand Theatre, was held at the Temple of Heaven's Shenyue Hall and will continue until October 24. The man believed to be Qin Gang attended a concert titled 'Tracing Romance, Directly Reaching Today's Music.'

If this information is accurate, it marks Qin Gang's first public appearance after being 'missing' for over two years.

In September, The Washington Post reported, citing former U.S. officials, that Qin Gang had been assigned to a low-level position at the World Knowledge Publishing House, which operates under the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, at least on paper.' However, staff members at the publishing house claimed during interviews with reporters that they were unaware of this situation. Later, Ming Pao cited sources in Beijing stating that the publishing house only has a staff member with the same name as Qin Gang.

On September 27, a memorial service for the late former EU ambassador Guan Chengyuan was held at his home. Hua Chunying attended the service and conveyed condolences from Xi Jinping and Cai Qi regarding Guan's passing. When discussing the situation surrounding Qin Gang, she confirmed that he has no political or economic issues, but rather emotional entanglements with Fu Xiaotian. Qin has safely retired.

Political commentators took to X on October 9 to state that the latest updates about Qin Gang confirm that he has not been as misrepresented by the media, but has retired with deputy ministerial-level benefits. In contrast, Fu Xiaotian appears to be in a precarious situation, with uncertainty surrounding the length of his secret sentence.

Speculation about Qin Gang possibly reappearing has ignited lively discussions on the X platform.

"Comrade Qin Gang has not yet reached the legal retirement age and does not qualify for early retirement under current policies. His affiliated unit can only continue to pay his regular salary and contribute to social security until he reaches the legal retirement age."

"Qin Gang has finally made an appearance at the Beijing International Music Festival. This seems to be a deliberate move by the Chinese Communist Party to showcase Qin Gang. In other words, Qin Gang is neither deceased nor imprisoned. This suggests that he has not engaged in espionage or provided intelligence to the United States, allowing him to return safely. However, his partner, host Fu Xiaotian, remains missing, and it is unclear whether he has been sentenced or what has happened to their child."

Nonetheless, some individuals suspect that this may be a body double and not the real Qin Gang.

"Whether you believe it or not, you could be made up to resemble Qin Gang, as long as the facial features are somewhat similar. The initial leaks came from a publishing house affiliated with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, so what connection does this music festival have with that publishing house?"

I remain convinced that he is a stand-in and only dares to appear after being disguised by an expert! There is no doubt about it; Qin Gang (Qin Gang) is dead, and I firmly believe it! Gao Zhikai's statement: We will never know where he is. Only if he is dead will we remain in the dark; as long as he is alive, we will know. A genuine stand-in is actually unrecognisable.

On October 19, Cai Shenkun (Cai Shenkun) posted again, stating, 'Someone has conducted a facial recognition comparison, and the individual who appeared at the Beijing International Music Festival is indeed Qin Gang himself, with an accuracy rate of 99%!'

'Does the reappearance of this missing political figure convey any signals or meanings?'

'His appearance further confirms that Old Xi is about to step down!'

'On the day Xi Jinping (Xi Jinping) dies, the entire world will celebrate, joyfully drinking and toasting!'

The 60-year-old Qin Gang (Qin Gang) previously held positions as the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Communist Party of China, Minister-Counsellor in the UK, Director of the Information Department, and Director of the Protocol Department. He was promoted to Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs in 2018. In July 2021, he became the Ambassador to the United States. At the end of 2022, Qin Gang succeeded Wang Yi (Wang Yi) as Minister of Foreign Affairs, and in March 2023, he was elected State Councillor, achieving the rank of Deputy National Leader, making him the youngest party and state leader in mainland China at that time. The outside world also believed that Qin Gang was rapidly promoted due to Xi Jinping's favour.

However, just a few months later, Qin Gang's political trajectory took a dramatic turn. On June 25, 2023, after discussions with diplomats from Vietnam, Russia, and Sri Lanka, he suddenly vanished from public view. By the end of July, Qin Gang was dismissed from his role as Minister of Foreign Affairs. Three months later, his position as State Councillor was also revoked.

Two weeks after Qin Gang's public absence, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin briefly mentioned that the foreign minister was missing due to 'health reasons.' Three weeks later, another spokesperson, Mao Ning, stated, 'There is no information to provide.' During an event, Chinese Ambassador to the U.S. Xie Feng was also questioned about this matter, to which he responded, 'Let's wait and see.'

In September 2023, The Wall Street Journal reported, citing sources, that a notification regarding Qin Gang's 'lifestyle issues' had been communicated to provincial and ministerial levels in August. The notification indicated that Qin Gang had engaged in an extramarital affair and fathered a child in the U.S., but did not disclose the names of the woman or the child. The Financial Times, referencing a friend of Fu Xiaotian, reported that Qin Gang and Fu Xiaotian met around 2010 in London and had a son through a surrogate in the U.S. in 2022, but had lost contact with her after June 2023.

On December 6, 2023, the American political news website Politico published a report titled 'China's Xi goes full Stalin with purge.'

Recent reports suggest that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has been significantly expanding its nuclear weapons program in recent years. Sources close to senior CCP officials reveal that before his disappearance, Qin Gang (Qin Gang) met with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Rudenko in Beijing. On that occasion, Rudenko delivered a message to Xi Jinping (Xi Jinping) that included allegations that Qin Gang and relatives of senior officers in the Rocket Force were involved in leaking China's nuclear secrets to Western intelligence agencies. 'Two individuals claimed that Qin Gang died in late July at a military hospital in Beijing while treating the country's top leader, possibly due to suicide or torture.'

Many observers regard this information as false. Concurrently, there are calls for Beijing to allow Qin Gang to appear publicly to dispel these rumours. However, despite repeated calls, Qin Gang has not surfaced.

The last time Qin Gang was seen in official media was on July 18, 2024. According to the communiqué from the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the CCP, the session accepted Qin Gang's resignation request and relieved him of his duties as a member of the Central Committee. The announcement still referred to him as 'Comrade.' Some analysts suggest that Qin Gang's voluntary resignation may imply that he will not face any criminal charges. △
