[People News] In a scene set at the end of 2025, the bold use of crosstalk art to challenge authority has emerged as a striking spectacle. Recently, a crosstalk routine titled 'Top Fool Xi Jinping', created by Taiwanese performer Huang Yihau, has gained immense popularity in overseas Chinese online communities.

The routine has been shared over a million times across platforms from X to YouTube, with netizens hailing it as 'the most precise, incisive, and daring critique of Xi Jinping in the past 20 years.' In contrast to Guo Degang's metaphor-laden routine 'Millennium Maggot', Huang Yihau's 'Top Fool' is more audacious and straightforward, delivering a powerful linguistic impact and comedic effect that fully embodies satire.

Huang Yihau is a prominent figure among contemporary young crosstalk artists in Taiwan, recognised for his 'comedic essentialism'. His performances often blend elements of pop culture and social issues, and he is particularly adept at rapid-fire dialogue, earning him a solid reputation within the Taiwanese crosstalk community.

This crosstalk piece featuring Xi Jinping runs for about 2 minutes. In the video, Huang Yihau wears a light-colored long robe with a stand-up collar and wide sleeves, presenting a simple and unembellished look, typical of traditional crosstalk attire, complemented by a short black hairstyle. The fusion of classical style with modern flair showcases both seriousness and humour, creating a comedic tension that is evident in his lively expressions and exaggerated mannerisms, starting off with an overwhelming comedic impact:

Huang Yihau remarked, “I can’t compare to that fool; he is a great man.” He continued, “As for the current situation, let’s focus on today. In the West, there exists a great Eastern country.” Using rhetorical contrasts and semantic contradictions, Huang Yihau crafted humour and sparked discussion, leading the audience to erupt in laughter and applause. A supporter in the audience provocatively questioned, “The geographical situation is too chaotic!”

Huang Yihau quickly responded with a disdainful smirk: “This country is chaotic, not just in terms of geography!” His expression conveyed both lament and helplessness as he shook his head and rolled up his sleeves, his demeanour a blend of teasing and pity, infused with a sarcastic yet reflective tone. The audience resonated with his sentiment, unable to contain their laughter, and they applauded and cheered. Seizing the moment, Huang Yihau launched into a rapid, fluent, and richly detailed monologue, detailing the bizarre state of the Chinese Communist Party over the past 20 years and the list of crimes attributed to Xi Jinping:

“Speaking of a great country in the East, a sage was born, a true dragon ascended the throne, standing approximately 1.78 meters tall, with a slicked-back hairstyle, small eyes, a short neck, a fleshy nose, and a corpulent figure reminiscent of Winnie the Pooh. He boasts of immense strength, claiming he can carry 200 pounds of wheat for ten miles without changing shoulders; he is also exceptionally intelligent, having obtained a doctorate in law based on an agricultural thesis despite only having an elementary school education.

After seizing the great treasure, he used the pretext of anti-corruption to eliminate dissent, then amended the constitution at the National People’s Congress to declare himself emperor, establishing a singular authority over the realm. This was all due to his forceful push of the national security law in the year of the pig, which led to chaos in Hong Kong, with millions of citizens taking to the streets during the anti-extradition movement. Later that year, the Wuhan pneumonia outbreak began, and the sage personally oversaw a three-year zero-COVID policy, where one positive case resulted in the lockdown of thousands of households, leading to dire living conditions, disrupted commerce and travel, and a suffering populace that could no longer endure it, resorting to holding white paper to express their dissent.

Since taking office, the government's policies on chip manufacturing, stabilising the housing market, increasing the population, and alleviating poverty have all ended in failure. The ambitious century-long plan for the Xiong'an New Area has devolved into a ghost town, despite hundreds of billions in investments. The Belt and Road Initiative has created debt traps that have ensnared numerous friendly nations, while the aggressive wolf warrior diplomacy has provoked backlash and exclusion from other countries. Under the guise of national rejuvenation, absurd behaviours have emerged among the so-called pink brigade, and as public sentiment shifts, measures to maintain stability have tightened. Amidst various forms of speech censorship, this ancient civilisation, with its thousands of years of history, struggles to express itself without pinyin abbreviations. With the full might of the nation, dissenting voices are silenced, achieving a historical emperor through ignorance and xenophobia. This is precisely: governing the country is like flipping a pancake, with wolf warriors and pink soldiers at the helm. The accelerator is always pressed down, the first fool — Xi — Jinping!

Huang Yihau exuded energy throughout his performance, displaying confidence and engagement. His expressions were uniquely comedic, sometimes glaring with wide eyes and at other times squinting playfully. His facial muscles alternated between tension and relaxation, perfectly matching the rapid-fire delivery of lengthy dialogue and fast-paced demands. Huang Yihau articulated clearly and maintained a smooth flow, his rapid delivery reminiscent of a machine gun's fire, while his slower moments felt like clouds drifting lazily. His tone was rich with inflexions and variations. The entire performance was vibrant and filled with expressive body language, effortlessly humorous, and perfectly aligned with the satirical style and critical edge of political crosstalk. The audience held their breath, listening intently, each person relishing the experience, and everyone was thoroughly entertained. At the final line, the entire audience resonated, synchronously shouting with the performer, the first fool: '— Xi — Jinping!'

Huang Yihau's performance in this segment is hailed as the first of its kind across the Taiwan Strait in 2025, exemplifying contemporary political satire. The performance is well-structured, illustrating Xi Jinping's negative persona, revealing his dictatorial manoeuvres, showcasing failed projects, and highlighting his destructive actions against Hong Kong's democracy and the international community. It effectively serves as a systematic 'list of charges' against Xi Jinping's governance, focusing on the core controversies surrounding the CCP's oppressive rule.

The rhetorical techniques employed in this performance are masterful, blending metaphors and irony with folk sayings and cartoon imagery. Through careful crafting and outstanding performance, it unveils a chain of political logic under Xi Jinping's CCP regime: concentration of power, social control, economic collapse, and international isolation. Rather than merely a comedic skit, this performance acts as an entertaining Wikipedia entry about Xi Jinping, rich in revelations and satire of the CCP's tyrannical governance. By humorously depicting Xi Jinping's personal image, it conveys a political significance and social value that critiques, denounces, and fundamentally rejects the CCP regime. Following its online release, the video resonated widely, evoking empathy across the internet.

In fact, the phenomenon surrounding Taiwanese crosstalk performer Guankou Chongta is not an isolated incident; it coincides with the rising public sentiment in mainland China against the tyranny of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Recently, the 'Douyin Chongta' movement has erupted within the Great Firewall of China, featuring Guo Degang's segment 'Millennium Maggot Awakens' as a form of ideological resistance. This comes alongside the incident involving Thai fighter jets bombing a Cambodian scam park, where mainland netizens overwhelmingly praised the Thai comments. At the conclusion of the 40th anniversary concert of the musical 'Les Misérables' at the Shanghai Grand Theatre, the audience sang the theme song, which was imbued with a spirit of resistance. Together, these events and elements paint a picture of the current defeat and absurdity of the CCP's political landscape.

On one hand, CCP authorities boast about a stable and improving economy, loudly proclaiming that the people are the masters of the country and that they are fulfilling their responsibilities as a major power, while singing their own praises. On the other hand, the economy continues to decline, people's livelihoods are collapsing, and the populace is struggling to survive. The wealth gap is widening, social classes are becoming more rigid, and conflicts between officials and the public are escalating. Public dissatisfaction has quickly shifted from economic issues to political concerns, with grievances directly targeting the CCP's failed governance.

The Douyin Chongta movement addresses topics such as the June Fourth Incident, Winnie the Pooh memes, the cause of Li Keqiang's death, and extends to nostalgia for the Hu-Wen era, the unblocking of Zhao Ziyang's videos, Chai Jing's documentary, and even acrostic poems that angrily denounce Xi Jinping and call for the CCP to 'step down.' Nearly ten thousand comments on Douyin videos openly declare that the party-state is the source of all evil, likening it to organ traffickers, and even call for the Thai military to directly bomb Hunan Xiangya Second Hospital…

The people are not afraid of death; how can they be intimidated by it? The Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) system of lies and media suppression has crumbled in the face of a strong awakening of public sentiment. Resorting to violent measures to maintain stability will only add fuel to the fire. A wave of civil unrest is on the horizon, and the CCP's influence is diminishing, awaiting its eventual downfall.
