[ People News] The news of the "U.S. capturing Venezuelan President Maduro" has circulated widely and gained traction on Chinese social media. Three interviewees from different backgrounds in mainland China shared their perspectives on the judiciary, the general public, and the system. Despite their varied identities, they all expressed shock and excitement, hoping for the Communist Party's swift downfall.
Judiciary insider: The fall of the Communist Party's 'old friends' fuels public hopes for its collapse this year.
As reported by the Epoch Times, a judicial insider in mainland China, Yang Ming (pseudonym), expressed his initial feeling of "shock": "I found it truly shocking. I saw online that Maduro was captured in just over an hour, which clearly demonstrates the executive power of the Trump administration. When they target a goal, they do not hold back; it is done swiftly and efficiently.
In recent years, several countries regarded as 'old friends' of the Communist Party have faced political upheaval. He noted that since the CCP's 'September 3' military parade last year, Nepal and a Southeast Asian nation have experienced coups. Furthermore, just after the New Year of 2026, Iran may also see a significant change. These developments are encouraging; they are all 'old friends' of the Communist Party, stepping down one by one, which is indeed good news.
Yang Ming remarked, "Many people in the country now, including some colleagues of mine, are eagerly anticipating this, holding onto hope—hoping to witness the Communist Party's collapse in 2026."
Regarding the domestic environment, he mentioned that this year's New Year's Eve celebrations were marked by heightened tension across the country, possibly because the Communist Party senses that its end is drawing near.
He also noted that in previous years, highways were free during the New Year's holiday, but this year they are not. In his opinion, this change may indicate the authorities' heightened vigilance regarding the uncertain situation—they want to prevent gatherings and movement among the public. This has also bolstered public confidence in the potential downfall of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), leading to a sense of awakening.
Insider: Focus on the Demonstration Effect of 'Decapitation Actions'
An interviewee from within the system, Zhao Yi (pseudonym), expressed his excitement and shock upon hearing the news. 'No one wants to live under a dictatorship, so Maduro's arrest is a victory for the people of Venezuela and for people worldwide.'
He shared his perspective from a military and power logic standpoint. He believes that President Trump has set a military precedent—ending a 'war' without the need for significant loss of life. This aligns with the traditional Chinese military strategy of 'capturing the king before capturing the thief.' President Trump did not order a direct assassination, which he views as a more civilised approach. He truly is a great president.
Zhao Yi mentioned that the CCP cannot suppress the news of Maduro's arrest, as state media has already reported it. He estimates that the CCP is currently examining how to prevent their highest leader from being captured by the United States, and they are likely holding meetings about this.
He added that many people around him wish to see the direct end of the CCP's dictatorship without sacrificing the people's interests. 'I believe 80 to 90 per cent of people would support this and be pleased.'
Mainland Citizens: Hope for the Decapitation of the CCP Leader
Mainland citizen Li Hao (pseudonym) expressed during an interview, 'This is great news! I'm so excited! Venezuela has been liberated; when will it be the turn of the Chinese people to be liberated?'
He stated that the people in mainland China do not wish to be ruled by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) for even a single day, and they long for a situation similar to Venezuela, where the highest leader of the CCP could be overthrown. Their hatred for the CCP is profound. 'We are all eager for change; the CCP's numerous injustices will ultimately lead to its own downfall. There is currently widespread anger and discontent; the general public does not support the CCP's leader. The Chinese economy is in a dire state, and the people are genuinely struggling financially. They can no longer afford basic consumption. Yet, the CCP continues to act against the interests of the people.'
'If the citizens under the CCP could muster the same courage to take to the streets as the people of Iran and Venezuela, then the CCP's end would be near.' △
