Yu Menglong (AI)
[People News] Following Yu Menglong's death, various online messages have suggested murder and conspiracy theories, including a recently circulated list of 17 individuals linked to a so-called 'death dinner.' Cheng Qingsong, one of the individuals named by netizens, quickly shared screenshots of his conversation with Tian Hairong to demonstrate that he was not present that night. However, on September 29, Tian Hairong unexpectedly took to Weibo to refute this, stating, 'I cannot prove his innocence,' and announced her intention to sue Cheng Qingsong and the netizens involved, indicating a brewing internal conflict that has sparked intense debate.
In response to Cheng Qingsong's sharing of screenshots from his chat with Tian Hairong to assert his absence that night, she issued a lengthy clarification on the 29th, emphasising that she does not know Yu Menglong and specifically named Cheng Qingsong. She stated, 'Without my knowledge, he publicly edited and selectively deleted parts of our WeChat chat records and released them as screenshots.' She clarified: 'I immediately requested him to delete it. Cheng Qingsong refused to do so, claiming that the release of the screenshots was to prove his innocence.' Tian Hairong expressed that she cannot confirm the other party's innocence and believes Cheng Qingsong's actions have embroiled her in the controversy.
Tian Hairong highlighted that the online harassment she faced has caused severe mental distress to both herself and her family, urging a boycott of online violence and the dissemination of false information, and announced her decision to sue Cheng Qingsong and the netizens involved.
Following the death of Yu Menglong, a list of individuals involved in a so-called 'death dinner' began circulating online. An article claiming to be from 'Yu Menglong's junior sister' alleged that the incident that night was actually a dinner party, naming several individuals, including actress Tian Hairong, director Cheng Qingsong, actress Song Yiren, Li Ming, and Yu Menglong's manager.
In response, several of those named issued statements denying the allegations, but the majority of netizens expressed scepticism. Notably, Cheng Qingsong was found to have posted 'Delicious' on the day of the incident, a post he later deleted, which sparked discussions. Some users also noted that he had used the same phrase nine years ago when actor Qiao Renliang died under mysterious circumstances. This coincidence has fueled speculation, leading many to believe there may be more to the situation.
According to Mr Ouyang, a friend of Yu Menglong, in an interview with the People's Daily website, he remarked that in China's entertainment industry, celebrities and wealthy individuals cannot thrive without the support of high-ranking Communist Party officials. The industry is plagued by money, power, and sexual transactions, and is rife with criminal activities. Many female stars are reportedly mistresses of certain second-generation elites, while some male stars have become male prostitutes or entertainers. The conflict between Yu Menglong and these individuals represents a struggle between integrity and the corruption, debauchery, and moral decline within the Communist Party's ranks. Thus, it is the Communist system that has caused Yu Menglong's death; the Communist Party is the true perpetrator. △
