[People News] As the Yu Menglong case continues to ferment both inside and outside China, an earthquake-level piece of news has struck the mainland entertainment industry. Hao Rong, president of the Central Academy of Drama, is suspected of serious disciplinary violations and illegal activities. He has voluntarily turned himself in and is currently under investigation by the relevant organizational authorities.
Born in 1971, Hao Rong graduated from the Acting Department of the Central Academy of Drama and holds a master’s degree in drama and opera studies. He graduated from the academy in 1995 and then stayed on to teach. During that period, he also participated in a few productions, though most of his energy was devoted to teaching. He obtained his master’s degree in 2003 and was promoted to professor in 2007. From 1995 to the present, he has worked at the Central Academy of Drama for 30 years. He became vice president in 2016 and has served as president since 2018—seven years to date.
The Central Academy of Drama is China’s first higher education institution dedicated to theatrical education and has supplied a large number of performing arts talents to the mainland entertainment industry. Many famous actors graduated from this school, such as Zhang Ziyi, Qin Hailu, Jiang Wen, Jin Dong, Chen Baoguo, and Chen Daoming, among others. For many arts-exam candidates, this school is their first choice, which shows its status within the industry.
It is said that several days ago, someone had already leaked news that he had been arrested. At the time, netizens were skeptical, waiting to see how things would develop. Unexpectedly, an official red-letter document arrived directly to confirm it.
Netizens bluntly labeled Hao Rong a “literary thug,” saying, “Thugs aren’t scary; what’s scary is thugs with culture.” Some commented, “Such an elegant place, and something like this happens?” Others replied, “Elegant? He can act. On stage he’s full of righteousness; under the table he frantically grabs money. If he couldn’t act, would that work?”
At present, the specific details of his suspected disciplinary and legal violations have not yet been disclosed. As for exactly what brought Hao Rong down, some say it must involve power–sex transactions and interest transfers, related to admissions and bribery.
Whether Hao Rong’s investigation, at this sensitive moment of the Yu Menglong case, is connected to it remains unknown. But the Yu Menglong incident has lifted the filthy curtain of the domestic entertainment industry. The president of the highest temple for cultivating actors being investigated once again proves that the mainland literary and arts circle is truly rotten to the core.
In fact, it is not only the literary and arts circle that is rotten. Under Xi Jinping’s rule, the mainland economy has fallen into difficulty, the real estate sector has collapsed, local government debt has exploded, unemployment remains high, and collective social emotions are on the verge of losing control at any time. Recently, a long article titled “Advising Xi Jinping to Resign,” published online by someone claiming to be anti-CCP, has spread widely and sparked heated discussion.
On December 5, an overseas X-platform blogger named “Tiny Reverie” published an article titled “Advising Xi Jinping to Resign.” The article opens by stating the reasons for advising Xi Jinping to resign: Xi Jinping places personal interests above national interests and is narrow-minded.
The article mentions that Swedish citizen Gui Minhai published a book about Xi Jinping’s alleged scandals, after which Xi Jinping carried out cross-border abductions of employees of the Causeway Bay Bookstore. As for Gui Minhai himself, agents were even sent to Thailand to kidnap him. He was later forced to confess on television and announce that he was giving up Swedish citizenship and restoring Chinese citizenship in order to serve a sentence. The article criticizes this as treating state power as a private toy, with extremely bad influence and extremely serious consequences.
The article states that as China’s head of state, Xi Jinping had absolutely no need to make such a huge fuss over such trivial matters. As a citizen, if he believed he had been defamed by Gui Minhai, Xi Jinping could have followed legal procedures and filed a lawsuit.
The article directly points out: “It can be said that whether as a head of state or as a citizen, Xi Jinping is unqualified. The presidency is merely a job, no different from a sanitation worker. Xi Jinping not only treats this position like an emperor, but even went so far as to amend term limits in an attempt to remain in office permanently.”
The article states that Xi Jinping opposes student movements and suppresses the “Age of Revolution,” making him a bona fide active counterrevolutionary. In addition, Xi Jinping’s family discipline is lax, and he indulges relatives in accepting bribes. He illegally built a luxurious mausoleum for his father, Xi Zhongxun, occupying an area even larger than ancient imperial tombs—enough to show the extent of his arrogance.
The article also says: “Xi Jinping moves backward, and in the 21st-century internet era, he has implemented the harshest literary inquisition in Chinese history. He deprives citizens of freedom of speech, freedom of information, freedom of association, and even the freedom to obtain passports.”
In addition, the article points out that Xi Jinping practices one-man rule and suppresses speech. Not only does he prohibit public discussion, but he also refuses to listen to dissenting opinions within the Party; he lets laymen direct professionals and illegally interferes with the market economy; he is obsessed with grand achievements and blindly pursues unrealistic mega-projects. Since taking office, whether it is the Belt and Road Initiative or the so-called millennium plan projects such as Xiong’an and the Greater Bay Area, all have ended with much sound and fury but little substance, wasting trillions in public wealth.
The article further claims that Xi Jinping is poorly educated and has repeatedly made embarrassing mistakes on the international stage, such as reading from prepared notes, severely damaging the national image. It accuses him of academic misconduct, of improperly obtaining a doctoral degree from Tsinghua University, and of academic impropriety. Xi Jinping, the article says, dares not take responsibility. Whether it was the Wuhan COVID pandemic or the Zhengzhou floods, one can see that Xi Jinping never proactively assumes responsibility, nor does he rush to disaster sites at the first moment to provide relief.
The article concludes that Xi Jinping lacks the ability to continue serving as head of state, and that if he remains in a leadership position, he will inevitably bring profound disasters to the country and the people. In summary, it advises Xi Jinping to resign.
In fact, in a certain sense, Xi Jinping is also an actor—his identity is that of a so-called communist. The Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party states that communists, in their hypocritical performances, often use the banner of equality to deceive society, destroy genuine equality, and eliminate human morality in the name of morality. Such behavior not only harms individual dignity and freedom, but also causes severe damage to social stability and progress.
Hao Rong is a literary thug; Xi Jinping and other so-called communists are political thugs.
The article “Advising Xi Jinping to Resign” has also sparked heated online discussion. Some netizens said, “The wording should be changed to ‘order him to step down.’” “It’s not resignation—it’s a public trial.” “It’s not stepping down, it’s reckoning!”
Other netizens believe, “Whether Xi leaves or not is meaningless; the entire Communist Party must be ended.” “Whether he steps down has no meaning at all—only when the CCP ends will China see the light.” “Not only must Xi step down, the entire CCP must be brought down and subjected to trial and reckoning!”
