[People News] The administration of U.S. President Donald Trump is actively working to enhance transparency regarding the discovery of "unidentified aerial phenomena" (UFOs). After releasing the first batch of UFO documents and videos on May 8, the Pentagon followed up with a second batch of declassified UFO documents on May 22. A multitude of events that were previously subjects of speculation, discussion, or remained unknown have now been revealed, shocking and prompting reflection, exploration, and self-examination among many people worldwide.
These events include U.S. military aircraft tracking and shooting down UFOs; Apollo 12 astronauts observing UFOs; a formation of UFOs captured by infrared sensors on a U.S. military platform over Iran in 2022; and encounters with UFOs by U.S. officials and intelligence agents aboard helicopters by the end of 2025, among others. Some of these UFOs are reported to change shape continuously, some can teleport, and others defy aviation laws with their speed variations or unpredictable flight paths... leaving witnesses astonished and speechless. This has led many to contemplate that in the vast universe, life exists in various forms, and there are indeed many life forms that are far more advanced than human technology.
Of course, many astrophysicists and aerospace manufacturing experts believe that the structure of UFOs—the materials they use, their propulsion energy, motion principles, and flight patterns—is not based on human technology or materials and lies beyond the scope of current human understanding. Some internet users speculate that they may operate within electromagnetic fields, or travel through warped spacetime—appearing at one point and disappearing instantly, not because they fly far, but because they traverse another spatial path through distorted time.
On May 21, Dr Hal Puthoff, a CIA-funded researcher and former senior advisor to the Advanced Aerospace Weapon System Applications Program (AAWSAP), appeared on The Diary of a CEO podcast hosted by Steve Bartlett in a “UFO roundtable” discussion. During the program, he further revealed that the U.S. government has, in fact, recovered four different types of extraterrestrial biological remains.
“Given their level of technology, if they don’t want to be seen, we wouldn’t see them,” Puthoff said. “So I would say there is evidence that, for some reason, they want to be seen. Personnel involved in the recovery have indicated there are at least four types.”
According to the New York Post, Puthoff’s well-known former AAWSAP colleague, Dr Eric Davis, had already categorised these four types of extraterrestrials at the 2025 UAP Disclosure Fund conference: the Greys, Nordics, Insectoids, and Reptilians. Davis and other UFO experts noted that each type possesses a humanoid body structure, with two arms and two legs.
Scientists and space enthusiasts in many countries are also pondering a deeper question: could there be life forms more advanced or more profound than extraterrestrials? For example, beings described in traditional religions—such as Buddhas, Daoist immortals, gods, or heavenly realms?
Regarding UFO documents, they were long considered classified secrets by the U.S. government. Multiple media outlets have reported that the U.S. military may at one time have engaged in weapons-related cooperation with extraterrestrials. Former President Obama once made remarks referencing extraterrestrials, which drew criticism from Trump, who accused him of “leaking classified information… he shouldn’t have done that.” So why is the Trump administration now choosing to disclose these documents?
Some internet users suggest that perhaps humanity has reached a turning point—an era in which major global changes are imminent, and people are being gradually informed. Others say that regardless, if humans are not the only life in the universe, then humanity should approach nature itself, and the external world with humility and goodwill.
People from various countries, including government officials, have been actively discussing the issue. However, China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has not commented—either in regular press briefings or written statements—on the authenticity, intent, or “space security implications” of the U.S. documents. In 2023, when responding to U.S. shootdowns of unidentified aerial objects, the ministry emphasised that “without clear evidence, speculation should be avoided.”
Why is the Chinese Communist Party reluctant to send any signal on this issue? As a political organisation that maintains its rule through atheism, it has long promoted the idea that humans are the only advanced beings in the universe, evolved from monkeys, and that concepts like other dimensions or life forms are superstition. It teaches that only the Party possesses the power to govern the world and that only under its rule can a communist utopia be realised.
Some netizens argue that if the CCP were to acknowledge UFOs, people might also begin to accept deeper concepts such as Buddhas, Dao, gods, and heavenly realms—causing the Party’s century-long narrative to collapse. If its atheistic claims were exposed as false, would its rule not be undermined? Therefore, how could it admit such things? How could it dare respond? And even if it claims that U.S. documents are fabricated, those documents are supported by images, videos, physical evidence, and witness testimony—convincing many people. How could it continue to mislead the public? Thus, perhaps silence is the safest choice. △
