The CCP Acts Like a Bully in Attacking Shen Yun, Becoming an International Laughingstock

[People News] In 2026, Shen Yun Performing Arts’ global tour is being staged at top theaters across five continents, receiving enthusiastic welcomes and high praise from mainstream audiences in many countries.

However, unwilling to accept its repeated failures to interfere with, sabotage, and obstruct Shen Yun performances, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has this year once again intensified its attacks on Shen Yun through official statements, anonymous emails, and other means.

For example, the Chinese embassies in the United Kingdom and Denmark, as well as the Chinese Consulate General in Sydney, Australia, have successively issued so-called “statements” attacking Shen Yun—almost identical in template—attempting to pressure theaters, government officials, and audiences to block Shen Yun performances.

At the same time, various despicable gangster-like tactics—anonymous death threats, bomb threats, and attacks impersonating others—have been paraded one after another. Major theaters around the world have become familiar with these CCP tricks; they circulate them privately among themselves and laugh at the CCP.

For instance, on January 8, an email sent to Shen Yun’s Taiwan ticketing service impersonated Taiwan’s Minister of the Interior, claiming that if the performances continued, violent incidents would occur, including the assassination of Taiwan President Lai Ching-te and the bombing of the Presidential Office.

In December last year and January this year, an individual or group impersonating editors of The Dajiyuan sent emails to Shen Yun ticketing services in France, the UK, Canada, Taiwan, and the United States, threatening bomb attacks, assassinations of Canadian politicians, or unspecified “terrorist attacks.”

Others impersonated Chinese dissidents living in Canada and sent further threats involving bombings, kidnappings, rape, and shootings to Shen Yun Performing Arts and to Shen Yun ticketing contacts in Taiwan, Poland, the UK, and Canada.

One threat message read: “Cancel Shen Yun performances, or UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer will be remotely shot dead!”

One email claimed to be from an employee of a European gender-equality nonprofit organization, but had stolen the name of a former German professional athlete.

According to statistics from the Falun Dafa Information Center, over the past two years Shen Yun Performing Arts has been subjected to more than 160 death threats and bomb threats, usually sent by email to theaters hosting Shen Yun performances. More than seventy similar threats have more broadly targeted Falun Gong.

Regarding these junk emails sent by the CCP manipulating some lowlifes hiding in dark corners, anyone with common sense and conscience can recognize them for what they are.

U.S. cybersecurity expert and one of the founding members of the Department of Homeland Security, Gary Miliefsky, once humorously said: “If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, and looks like a duck, it’s probably a duck.”

These attacks have not dampened audiences’ enthusiasm for Shen Yun. On the contrary, discerning, tasteful, and appreciative mainstream audiences continue to flock in.

On the afternoon of January 18, 2026, the Shen Yun Global Company’s seventh performance at London’s Hammersmith Apollo (Eventim Apollo)—also its final performance in London this year—played to a completely sold-out house. Time and again, audiences expressed their admiration and love for Shen Yun with wave after wave of thunderous applause.

This Shen Yun France tour will span 15 cities with 99 performances, offering a total of 247,000 tickets. Due to overwhelming demand, the 2027 season will expand to 18 cities, 118 performances, and 300,000 tickets.

Ms. Rosa, coordinator of Shen Yun’s French ticketing hotline, said that according to incomplete statistics, during the 2025 season more than 120 organizations—including banks, municipal governments, and associations—purchased group tickets, while in 2026 the number of group purchases reached as high as 500.

Many organizations have already pre-booked tickets for Shen Yun’s 2027 performances. Patrick, who handles group ticket sales, said: “As soon as ticket sales for 2027 opened, we had already received bookings from 32 groups.”

Founded in New York in 2006, Shen Yun Performing Arts was created from scratch by a group of artistically gifted Falun Gong practitioners, with the mission of reviving the profound depth and magnificent splendor of China’s 5,000 years of divinely inspired culture through art of pure goodness and beauty.

Why does the CCP spare no effort to use every crooked, sinister, and underhanded trick to suppress Shen Yun?

The key reason is this: for 27 years the CCP has smeared, defamed, attacked, and vilified Falun Gong. Shen Yun artists, who practice Falun Gong, with their sincerity, the kindness radiating from within, their extraordinary and graceful mastery, their humanity that shines and warms the heart, their elegance and cultivation that elevate morality and character, and performances that bring audiences light, hope, vitality, and uplifting power, have thoroughly exposed the CCP’s lies.

Shen Yun presents to the world’s foremost artistic stages— in the most sacred and beautiful way—the essence of China’s divinely inspired culture that the CCP has damaged, defiled, and distorted, including historical legends, heroic figures, ethnic traditions, Confucian benevolence, Buddhist compassion, and Taoist serenity, allowing the once-tarnished 5,000-year-old Chinese culture to shine again.

Shen Yun also includes a small number of works that artistically expose the CCP’s persecution of righteous belief, publicly revealing on the world stage the CCP’s trampling of human rights, destruction of the rule of law, and poisoning of the human spirit, resonating deeply with all audiences who possess conscience, morality, justice, and humanity.

Shen Yun has transformed from once being unknown into a leading presence on today’s world stage.

The so-called “statements” issued by CCP embassies and consulates about Shen Yun are nothing but label-style, slogan-style, abusive, dry party-culture rhetoric, whereas Shen Yun is vibrant, beautiful, richly colorful, engages audiences heart-to-heart, and presents art completely free of any party culture.

Mainstream audiences of the international community who watch Shen Yun are not brainwashed, tamed, freedom-deprived, or incapable of independent thinking; they choose to buy tickets with their own money and enter theaters of their own accord. Let us hear what they have to say.

Theater critic Richard Connema said: “I’ve seen about 4,000 shows, and none compares to what I saw tonight.”

The CCP’s attacks on Shen Yun, especially those anonymous emails, are nothing but shameless acts of desperation, clumsy moves by cowards and idlers, absurd self-deception, and the final curse of a terrorist gambler. They fully expose the CCP’s ugliness, despicableness, and vulgarity—“one foolish move after another, each step a mistake; the more it tries to harm others, the more it harms itself.”

Shen Yun is a dazzling new star rising on this blue planet where humanity lives in the 21st century. Its radiance illuminates the sun and moon, its energy spans past and present, and its vitality lives in human hearts.

All the ugly, evil, and absurd deeds the CCP commits against Shen Yun are demonic acts leading itself toward the abyss and doom, destined to end in disastrous failure.
